Water Damage, if left unattended, will lead to Mold Growth. Moisture is the leading ingredient in causing mold spores to germinate and start spreading. Mold can grow as quickly as 24 – 48 hours after a Water Damage. It is extremely important to get the water extracted and the area dry as quickly as possible after your have experience a water damage.
Water Damage can be caused by many different reasons;
- Burst pipe
- Sewage back up
- Drain back up
- Foundation cracks
- Leaky roof
- Human error
- Identifying the source
- checking for moisture and humidity and;
- bring the affected area back to a dry standard
How is this done?
Upon arrival, an invasive search is done to ensure of finding where the water has come from. Next, equipment and tools are used to determine how far the water has travel. The tools used to determine this are thermal imaging guns and moisture meters. Finally, all the sitting water is extracted, all affected material is removed (drywall, carpet, flooring, etc) and drying equipment is set up. Anti microbial is applied to the affected area’s to help prevent mold growth.
If the above is followed in a timely manner, mold growth should be prevented.
